Where To Find Me

November 12, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but I have trouble keeping up with all the places I have connections with and all the sites that have published my work. So I created a quick list to help me find it all. Here it is:

Where I Write:

Search For Sharon

I’ll also be keeping it up to date on the new links page on SHH.com

WU Posts Of The Week

November 12, 2006 · Leave a Comment

As you know, I have another blog at WritingUp, which has a reasonable readership. It’s another writing blog, but instead of creative writing, it focuses on helping people to become successful freelance writers.

Two of my posts that have attracted attention this week have to do with paid blogging, a topic that causes much debate, though more of it goes on than you think (I should know). The posts are:

ReviewMe: A New Paid To Blog Opportunity

Once you’re set up, your blog is assigned a value per review based on its popularity and other factors. You earn half of that price for writing a review. My blog was assigned an initial value of $40, which means I should get $20 for this review. I’ll keep you posted. They pay once a month at the start of the month.

Blogitive: More Posts, Less Time

This is getting to be hard work. $5 for 10 minutes work was fine, but $5 for an ad and two posts in between is less cost effective. And, wouldn’t you know it, this has coincided with a flurry of offers.

Have a look – and check out the blog for my latest promotion opportunity.

Getting Results On The Net

November 11, 2006 · Leave a Comment

The people that brought us Blogitive are now sponsoring another venture called NetResults and given Blogitive’s success they’ve got to be pretty excited about it. It’s called NetResults which is going to be looking at internet marketing on an internet marketing blog. Topics to be covered include search engine marketing, web development, media advertising, and Web 2.0 marketing. They’re looking for blog content, so if you know anything about those areas contact NetResults at submission@netresults.com. This seems a good idea and I’m thinking of signing up since I can always use another paid blogging opportunity. Maybe I’ll see you there.

Paradise For Writers

November 10, 2006 · Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post about a writing site. When I heard of Writing.com (a friend told me about the site), the first thing that went through my mind was: ‘I wish I had that domain name’. Where else could you possibly go to find out all about writing? (more…)

Additions to SHH.com

November 10, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been spending some time this week on my portfolio site, SharonHurleyHall.com. I started the site, which is actually another blog, to find another way of collecting all the stuff I do into one place. So I started by putting links to all the work I had done at the time, then I got busy and forgot about it, except for archiving issues of Writing Lab News. But now I’ve started working on it again, because I’ve been doing so much work that if I don’t keep track of it, I’ll forget where it all is.

Late To MySpace

November 8, 2006 · Leave a Comment

It took me a long time to get there, but I finally made it. I finally got myself a profile on MySpace. I’ve made a few friends (20 or so) and had lots of messages from people I hardly know but have something in common with. It’s been a blast! Check out my profile and if you’re there too, drop me a comment. I’m becoming addicted.

New Sponsorship Category

November 8, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I’ve decided to create a new category for certain posts. You know the ones I mean. The posts for plastic surgery, real estate and the like. The thing is, these posts provide pocket change which means that I have time to create quality content or do some offline writing, so I can’t afford to turn them down. But that doesn’t mean you should be fooled.

So I’m going to create a sponsored category, which I will use to identify those posts. I’ll call it ‘bux’ I hope you’ll still read some of them, because I can get quite creative, but if you’re in a crunch, bookmark it and come back later. I’m sure to have something new to say.
