My freelance mentoring blog has finally got a home of its own. I moved it from WritingUp when that site became unreliable, to Blogger and now it’s on its own domain. I’ve also been charting the move, to help others who might be doing the same thing. Here’s what I’ve written so far:
I’ll keep the list updated as I add more posts.

Whenever I hear the word ‘ping’ I think of notifying sites about blog updates, but it’s also a make of golf clubs. My husband is after some new golf clubs. I don’t know whether he will go for Ping golf clubs or another make, but he figures since his are 20 years old, it’s time for a change. I suspect this is a result of a round he played a couple of weeks ago. It could be that having the latest golf club technology will make a big difference when it comes to performance.

I’ve been writing for a long time – perhaps 20 years in my job, but far longer than that in my real life, whatever that is. Day to day I write articles on almost anything you could name, from the bits of electronics that stop your TV from conflicting with your microwave to mortgages and loans. I enjoy that kind of writing, but it’s not all there is.
I’ve been writing poetry since I was in my teens – at least that’s the first that I remember of it. My first poem was for an English class at school. My English teacher was withering but at last I had found something that I really wanted to do. (more…)

I have been a Harry Potter fan since the first book came out. I remember hearing that this was a series for children but when I read the first Harry Potter book, I felt like I had the best of both worlds. Here was a story that I could relate to, that transported me back to the times when I enjoyed school stories and books about magic. I was hooked – and have been hooked ever since. (more…)

I’ve been with PayPerPost for months. I love the fact that I get paid to blog – and I get to choose which opportunities I accept and refuse. Take this one, for example. I would probably have blogged about PPP anyway, so I don’t think I’m selling out by making a bit of money for it. That’s the whole point of PPP, that you make money blogging.
The last time I logged in, I was pleased to see that the login process was faster and that it was easier to tell which opportunities were available and which were already gone through a simple colour coding interface. I have made more than $150, which is nothing compared to some, but then I only blog for PPP occasionally, so I’m pretty happy.
As I’ve discovered there are Posties all over the place, especially on MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog, so I’ve hooked up with some new friends there.
